Through our environmental sustainability strategy, we help reduce emissions, reduce climate impact and sustainably support the development of a CO2-free economy.

As a core process, we strive to make our steel production climate-neutral in the future. Carbon used in steel production will be replaced by green hydrogen and used in new direct recovery plants. Already in 2030, two of these innovative plants will produce 3 million tons of steel to reduce carbon emissions per year, saving 6 million tons of carbon dioxide.

We also promote the expansion of renewable energy sources through rotating bearings, thereby contributing to climate protection. The technology is available in virtually all wind farms around the world, both at sea and on land. Therefore, our components support the further expansion of green wind energy.

Future climate-friendly journeys will also benefit from our technology and know-how: a group of companies from the traditional internal combustion engine business began developing new products for electric motors ten years ago. Today, we manufacture electrical components for major manufacturers that use equipment previously used to manufacture combustion technologies.

When it comes to the future energy source, hydrogen, we play a crucial role. With technologies in the field of water electrolysis and the production of environmentally friendly chemicals, we have every opportunity to benefit from the expected prosperity. As one of the few suppliers in the world, we can already supply hydrogen production equipment on an industrial scale.
